GOING FORWARD...

(posted by Katrina)

Thank you everyone who came out for Zine Fest. It was a really great time. There were so many great people tabling their zines and posters and other neat things. There were so many great people just there to check it out.  Thank you Minneapolis.

Last week was Jenny's last doodle club get together, this week was Emily's. Oh ladies. I am going to miss you so much. We will work together using technology and the USPS. You will form auxiliary chapters and hopefully we will all meet our drawing/book sharing/girl talk/nerdy craft talk needs.

This week was our last meeting at Anodyne.

Next week will be at someone's house. If you don't know who that someone is, message/call/talk to me (or whoever you know about doodle club from) for details.

After next week we may rotate between coffee shops and houses. It will be getting cooler soon and so knitting and crafting will be in the air too. I wonder if maybe it would be a good idea to have every other week be drawing, and then the next knitting/crafting?  Most of us do both so we would still get our weekly girl time in, I have some other friends who don't draw but we like to knit together regularly in the cooler months. It would be fun. On the crafting weeks we could take turns leading some sort of tutorial or informational talk and help with something specific (like gel medium transfers, book making, mitten gussets, crochet, blah blah blah).

I went to kinkos tonight and made my new second tips and tricks zine. I plan on going back tomorrow and running off more copies of the 4th of July one and maybe some cookbooks. Not sure... If you would like to join me, text me or email me or FB me etc... I am thinking 7 or 8 pm? Maybe earlier if that works.

I hope to see everyone on Saturday!

♞ Childhood Obsessions Zine ♞

Hello D O O D L E C L U B !

I would like to put together a zine about childhood obsessions! The title is going to be HORSES HORSES HORSES because my childhood obsession #1 was all things equine. I'm undecided about the size, but I'd like it to be portrait orientation.  Please, bring ideas/drawings to next weeks meeting -- the final zine will ideally have 2-4 drawings per person.
