GOALS ZINE February Progress

So it's the end of February, which is a good time to remember that I have some goals. One of which is to make the previously mentioned zine tracking goal progress, successes and failures.

I think it is also a good time to meet ( Katrina, Shawna ) to talk about what our goals are and to get started on some drawings ( On a Tuesday for Shawna's convenience? )

Here is a list of my 2014 Goals:

*** Don't over do it; Make time for relaxing and quality time with friends and Eben
*** Spend less time worrying about art and career aligning and use that time to make more art; Take a weaving class
*** Call your Mom and Sister weekly
*** Spending money on food is OK/important; Learn to make stock and stop buying cartons of stock; Pickle something
*** Read 8 books; Read more nonfiction and worry less about reading the classics
*** Participate in at least one craft fair; Consider making things that people can use
*** Don't be lazy at the gym
*** TV is not more important than sleeping

Commenting not working for me?

I tried to comment three times and nothing is showing up! I don't know what's going on! Halp!

also my comment was about the New Years Resolutions Zine! I'm in! I've resolved to make more little art and to hold a show. Maybe a show with you guys? In the fall or around that time? Also very excited to make some textile art! What are people making?

A 2014 Zine Project about Goals or Whatever....

Katrina and I are making a zine!  It's a year long project (a goal in and of itself!) about 2014 G O A L S !

This is my proposal: Set some goals. They can be anything (Katrina wants to make a rug, I want to make stocks and broths instead of buying the carton kind)! Make drawings, etc. about how it goes or doesn't go. I don't want this to be a zine about WORKING OUT EVERY DAY/LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!!!!! Because I think those kinds of goals are lame/setting yourself up to fail is a crappy thing to do to yourself. These goals will be about trying to do something and it's ok if doesn't work out!

Hopefully there will be at least one or two entries per person per month.  Right now I am in the process of thinking about the things I value and what my goals should be. Some are serious and some are fun...

Let me know if you want to be a part of the zine!

MONSTERS AND CLUB BUSINESS

(by katrina)

My mom wrote me some monster drawing instructions for christmas! Here they are!

Now down to club business...

We have not been meeting as doodleclub lately. We have been meeting as craftclub and that is fun because it includes additional fun ladies. We still talk about drawing and look at books/pictures but we also get to teach and learn different fiber arts skills.

We will be having a show at Caffetto in May. It will be fabric/fiber based things. Probably mainly embroidery and some mixed media stuff. If you are interested in taking part in the show, let me know.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 30th NOTES

Tonight those who attended were Shawna, Molly, Sarah and Me (Katrina).

I brought the Aesop's Fable cards again, Shawna brought a Beatles Illustrated Lyrics book.

We met at the coffee shop and SURPRISE it was stand up comedy night... they were sooooo loud and said a lot of things that pushed my buttons and were mildly to blatantly offensive. I felt like an angsty easily pushed over the edge teenager again (as a feminist and as a woman...). We looked at eachothers childhood obsession drawings and drew some. It was hard to concentrate and hard to communicate with eachother, so we left. We went to the Bad Waitress and spent another two hours together girl talking and drawing and eating delicious food.

Drawings for the show will be picked up Sunday or Monday. Childhood Obsession pages should be turned in by Friday.

It was a great evening. It was beautiful and foggy outside. Makes me want some SNOW!
